The messaging service Telegram has now added the ability for users on iOS to import their chat history from another messaging app, Whatsapp. Something that was first noticed by 9 to 5 Mac.

The new feature is available in version 7.4.1 of Telegram and allows users to continue their conversations there as long as both Whatsapp users also use Telegram.

The feature is released after Whatsapp presented its new and controversial terms of use that have made many users now search for alternatives. In the same vein, Signal also reports that they now have over 500 million active users.

In addition to Whatsapp, it is also possible to import chat history from Line and Kakaotalk to Signal. The import feature is also expected to appear on Android in the near future.
