Developers give old Ipod support for wifi and Spotify
Guy Dupont has revived a seventeen-year-old iPod at a relatively low cost.
If you have an old iPod that is collecting dust, it may be time to be inspired by the developer Guy Dupont's latest project.
Guy Dupont has upgraded an iPod from 2004 considerably, by replacing most of the content with modern components, including a color screen and a battery of 1,000 milliampere hours. In addition, support is offered for micro-USB, Bluetooth, and wifi, which among other things means that it is now possible to use the mp3 player to listen to Spotify.
In the Youtube clip below, we get to know more about the project which has been named sPot:
Guy Dupont says that the project has cost him just under $ 100, but then of course a lot of working time is added as well.
If you are interested in rebuilding your own iPod, you can find detailed instructions on the Hackaday site.
